One feature that Safari lacks that most other browsers have is a way to click to get a new tab. Yes, I know that you can just
Command-T
to get a new tab, but often it is more convenient to use the mouse.
TwiceTab takes care of this by opening a new tab anytime you double-click in an empty place on the tab bar.
Downloading will put a folder on your Desktop (or wherever your downloads go). That folder contains the installer for TwiceTab. Double click the installer application. You will be presented with a dialog box stating that SIMBL will be loaded. It is OK to do this. The installer also closes Safari so make sure you have anything you need saved, saved.
Once installed, you get a preference box that asks if you want to always open an empty tab or to open the tab with a web address in the clipboard. Personally, I like the empty tab option.
TwiceTab is free but every once in a while a dialog box pops up asking that you consider a donation if you use and like TwiceTab.
ADDENDUM: I can't believe that I just noticed this, but even without TwiceTab, you can
Right Click
on a tab and one of the options is New Tab.
