An easy way to make a simple slideshow DVD
NOTE: This tip requires that your computer has a SuperDrive, which many older Macs do not have.
How to tell if my Mac has a SuperDrive
To create a DVD of an iPhoto slideshow, you must first follow the setup instructions in this tip.
To create a DVD of the iPhoto Slideshow, we are going to use a small feature of iDVD that lets you create a DVD from a single movie. This DVD will not have any sort of menu structure. Rather it will just play when you insert it into a DVD player.
- Launch iDVD.
- Go to File / One Step DVD from movie... from the menu bar.
- Navigate to the iPhoto Slideshows folder inside your Pictures folder [iPhoto '09] or your Movies folder [iPhoto '08] and select the file that has the same name as your iPhoto slideshow.
- Insert a DVD into the Drive. iDVD will write your slide show to the DVD.
- When the DVD pops out, insert it into the regular DVD player connected to a TV and enjoy.
DVD slideshows make great gifts for friends or family members.
