Often when you are looking at new software or hardware to purchase, minimum specifications needed for the application or hardware are listed. Here is where to look to find that information.
The quick and easy way to tell is to go to the Apple Menu and choose About This Mac. There you will see the version of Mac OS X running, your processor type and amount of memory (RAM).
If you ever need the serial number for your Mac, you can get it by clicking twice on the "Version 10.x.x."
