The Rest of the iPhoto Toolbar

] Many Mac applications have toolbars across the top of the window.

If the toolbar is wider than the width of the window there is a problem: you can't see the entire toolbar. The Mac has a very simple solution to this problem.

If the toolbar is wider than the width of the window, there is a » symbol at the right end of the toolbar to indicate that there is more to see. Click on the » and the rest of the toolbar appears as a drop down menu.

Take a look at your Bookmarks bar right now in Safari. If you have added a lot Bookmarks to it, you probably see the » symbol at the right end of the toolbar now. If not, try resizing the Safari window to make it narrower than your Bookmarks bar. Then you will see the » symbol.

The » is not limited to only Safari. It happens in nearly every Mac application if the toolbar is wider than the window itself.

iPhoto's toolbar is at the bottom of the window, under your pictures.

Versions of iPhoto prior to '09 would show the » if the window was made too narrow. It doesn't do that any more. It simply restricts how narrow you can make the window.
