Viewing History in Cover Flow in Safari
Visually finding pages in History
History in Cover Flow
Cover Flow is a concept that first appeared in iTunes to let you browse your iTunes Library by album cover. Cover Flow is also available in Safari for viewing thumbnails of your History items.

Often when I am doing research, I quickly visit many web pages. Being a visual person, I am more likely to remember what a page looked like than what is was called. History Cover Flow works well for me.

Here's how to make it work for you.

To get to History Cover Flow, go to History / Show All History on the Menu Bar.

In Cover Flow view, you can scroll right and left to move forward and back through your browsing history. (Try a two finger scroll right and left on the Trackpad.)

If the Cover Flow thumbnails are too small, you can make them larger by dragging the dividing line between Cover Flow and the history list.

At the top right is a search box where you can type in terms to narrow down the history that you see.

Some pages will only show a black box with the Safari logo and a padlock in it. These pages were secure pages such as an order entry page that would show private information like addresses and credit card numbers. This is a good thing.

Once you find the thumbnail of the page you are looking for, click it and you will be taken to that web page.
