Flipping the Image in Photo Booth
Mirror image or not
Backwards and Forwards

Photo Booth is a fun little application that comes with Macs that have built in FaceTime or iSight cameras (notebook Macs and iMacs). What you may not have realized is that Photo Booth takes pictures that are mirror images. Pictures of yourself look "right" because you are used to seeing yourself in a mirror.

Other people, however, are used to seeing you straight on and the picture might look backwards to them. The effect is more noticeable when you have text in the image like the writing on my shirt in the photo to the right.

You can easily flip pictures you've already taken by choosing Edit / Flip Photo from the menu bar. You can also set Photo Booth to always flip new pictures by choosing Edit / Auto Flip new photos.
