I end every email message with the following text:

I don't type that every time I write a new email. I've created a signature in Mail that is inserted into every new message.

People use all sorts of different signatures to end their emails. For example:

In other words, an email signature can be anything you want it to be.

To add a signature to your email messages

  1. In Mail, go to Preferences
  2. Choose the Signatures section
  3. Click the + button to create a new signature
  4. In the space on the right, type your quote or drag a photo from the Finder or iPhoto.
You can have as many signatures as you wish. When you create a new message, you can choose which signature to use.
