Command-Tab is a quick way to switch between your open Applications without reaching for the mouse or trackpad. Command-Tab takes you to the top-most open window of an application. By adding a few more keystrokes, Command-Tab partners up with Exposé to take you directly to the Application's window you are looking for.

It is a little bit of finger gymnastics, but I know that some people prefer to use the keyboard as much as possible for navigation.

Use Command-Tab as normal to select the Application you want to navigate to. Then, with he Command key still held down, hit the down arrow key. This will open Exposé for the windows of the selected Application. Release the Command key and use the arrow keys to select the window you want to see. (The currently selected window has a blue boarder around it.) Hit Return and Exposé will close with the selected window as the top window on your Desktop.

While you are in Command-Tab Exposé, you can use the Tab key (no Command) to move between the Exposé view of the open Applications.

Command-Tabs has some other tricks up its sleeve you can try:

Using Drag and Drop with Command-Tab

Fast Quitting and Hiding of Applications with Command-Tab
