In iPhoto, you can create an ad hoc slideshow comprised of any photos you have selected. If you don't select any photos, your entire iPhoto Library will become the slideshow. An ad hoc slideshow can be useful for reviewing photos full screen or testing them to see how they work together before creating a regular slideshow.

To play an ad hoc slideshow, simply click the Slideshow button on the bottom toolbar. If it is the first time you have run an ad hoc slide show for this group of photos, you will get an options panel where you can quickly set options for your slideshow. ( If you don't see the options panel before the slideshow starts, you can select options from the bezel while the slideshow is running.)

When you have made your settings choices, click Play and your slideshow will begin.

Your slideshow will play full screen and if you move the mouse, a bezel will show. You can pause the show and step through it with the arrows. You can also choose a different theme, music or settings while the show is running.

If you don't perform any action, the bezel will disappear in a few seconds.

To end the slideshow, press the ESC key or click the mouse button.

If you want a repeatable slideshow without having to go to the setting dialog each time, create a regular slideshow by clicking on the + icon on the bottom left of the iPhoto window.
